ABRON PGR 100 resin system has been developed for use in the manufacture of pultruded composites. ABRON - PGR100 is resol type phenol formaldehyde resin with very good wet ability. With the catalyst addition there is an enhancement of process ability and the quality of the composite part. The developed catalyst is easy to handle and has an adequate shelf life.

TYPICAL CHARACTERISTIC PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITES:

  • Good flame resistance.
    Low smoke properties.
    High strength and modulus properties.
    ABRON PGR 100 resin system should be used with an appropriate mould release agent for good process ability and to get good end properties.

  • 2 –5 % of catalyst by weight should be added (as required) in the resin system to reduce the time span for pultruding the composite parts.

  • ABRON PGR 100 is compatible with glass roving and mats. This system can be used on standard polyester pultrusion processing equipment, without any changes in the system itself. The die temperatures should be maintained in the range of 100 – 220oC.

  • The speed of pultrusion would depend upon the shape and thickness of the pultruded profile.
